Wanted (江湖通缉令) is an action/wuxia/martial arts movie from China that was released on 13 April 2025.

About

Sworn brothers, Ye Liang and Long Buran, are torn apart by betrayal as they turn against each other. The third brother, Ye Liang, fights to save the eldest brothers orphaned daughter then has to fight back from the brink of death after being hurt.

Huang Tao (黄涛) as Ye Liang
The only other role we’ve seen him in is Eye for an Eye 2.

Sun Yi Ming (孫一明) as Long Buran
He is mainly in TV series rather than films, he is in Detective Chinatown Season 2 which I want to check out.

Review

The opening sequence of what Long Buran does to the daughter will instantly make you angry at the character. I’m not sure you would see this portrayed in western films, but I could be mistaken.

This was mainly an wuxia, action and martial arts films which they did very well, although if you look closely at the screen you can see the wires on the actors. Despite the wires the action kept this movie going for sure.

The plot was kind of typical but the actors did well making it as credible as they could. It was a typical story, nothing really new. There could have been a bit of humour added to it.

I think this must have been a made-for-TV film with a limited budget and fast timeline to get it completed.

Summary

Despite what I said above, I am pleased to have watched the film. I will give it 4.5/5 for the actions sequences and 2.5/5 for the plot. So, overall I just gave it a 4/5.
