Twelve (트웰브) is a South Korean action fantasy drama TV series which was aired on the Disney/Hulu network from August to September 2025.

About

12 zodiac angels have been fighting against evil spirits to protect the human race for many years. Those evil spirits were sealed in the gate of hell thinking that peace was finally gained so the angels could live as normal humans. That evil is woken again by the underworld and the angles enter into an battle.

Cast

Ma Dong Seok (마동석) plays “Tiger” but was also the screenwriter in the show
He is a big deal actor in South Korea with many productions in his resume. It looks as though this was his first try at screenwriting.

Sung Dong Il (성동일) as “Manager”
Another actor who is very well known in South Korea. We recently saw him in Butterfly with Daniel Dae Kim which can be found on Amazon Prime.

Ye Soo Jung (예수정) as Geum Sun, the Street Food Vendor
She had a guest appearance on the show but wanted to give her an honorary mention given that we have seen her in numerous other shows such as Dog Knows Everything.

Review

The show was difficult to get through and I’ve had similar experiences with Disney productions including Dr Who.

The first part of the series was boring, and the second half they had a lot of action. It was badly written and not evenly paced.

There were parts of the show with special effects but didn’t really know what was going on, we just guessed.

The action was ok, it filled up the more boring bits.

With Ma Dong Seok being in it I would have hoped Disney could have overseen and streamline it a bit more.

I wish I had something better to say about the show.

Summary

I wouldn’t bother with this show unless you are a big fan of any of the actors. I will give it a generous 2/5.
